Seattle to Kamloops
We kick things off from Seattle, departing early this morning with Kamloops British Columbia locked in our sights. Keep your eyes open for elk, bears, cougars and more as a whole host of wild and wonderful creatures call Thomson River Valley home. As we venture deeper into the gorgeous Canadian wilderness, we’ll stop for a short walk and a bite to eat at the Bridal Veil Falls Provincial Park. Here we’ll be treated to low elevation valleys and perfect mountain views as the waterfalls create a veil-like mask over the smooth rock face. With the first day drawing to a close, there’s nothing left to do but set-up camp and update your Instagram.
Kamloops to Yoho National Park to Banff National Park
Day two takes us to the magical Yoho National Park. Here we’ll laze by the perfect Emerald Lake, which is framed by towering mountains and colossal pine trees. To take one look at this paradise is to understand why Yoho means awe and wonder in its native language, Cree. Feel free to walk the lake or sit back and bask in its beauty from the shoreside cafe. Back on the road, we travel along the Kicking Horse Pass across the Continental Divide into Alberta. The drive takes us to Rogers Pass where we’ll soak in the sights of peaks looming 3,000 metres above sea level. Onwards, we arrive at Banff for sunset and some authentic alpine nightlife.
Banff National Park to Lake Louise to Banff National Park
Today we discover Banff National Park and the stunning, glacier-fed waters of Lake Louise. The morning’s yours to explore this natural playground, so keep your camera handy and your wonder flowing. Canoe on the crystalline waters, hike along a variety of trails, or sit back and skim rocks from the shore. Come afternoon we leave Lake Louise to pay a visit to Moraine Lake in the Valley of the Ten Peaks. If the air seems thinner here it’s because we’re at an impressive 1,884 metres above sea level. What better place for some truly astonishing views?
Banff National Park to Jasper National Park
Prepare to be blown away because we’re spending today cruising along the winding Icefields Parkway. We’ll stop periodically to explore all the best bits like Bow Glacier and Peyto Lake, so there’ll be ample opportunity for a picture or twenty. Along the way, we’ll discover a constant stream of vistas, jagged mountains, plenty of glaciers, and perhaps some wildlife if we’re lucky. Those who fancy it can take an optional helicopter ride over the Columbia Icefield and the truly brave amongst us can don a pair of crampons and wander onto the Athabasca Glacier. It might be chilly out here, but the memory of today will keep you warm forever.
Jasper National Park to Clearwater BC
Jasper awaits with the rising sun and we’ve got the entire day to explore it. The largest national park in Canada, Jasper is home to snow-capped summits, stretching wilderness, shimmering lakes, and towering mountain peaks. Hike or bike on a number of exhilarating tours, visit Miette hot springs, or try to snap a few shots of the local wildlife. Once we’ve had our fill, we’re back on the road for an evening drive along the Yellowhead Highway. This impressive stretch of road hugs the North Thompson River all the way to Clearwater BC, where we’ll be spending the night.
Clearwater BC to Whistler
Today we venture to the gorgeous, pine-covered peaks of Whistler! We’ll set-up base in a cosy resort nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain before heading out into the park for hikes, breath-taking sights and adventure. The entire day is yours to explore this spectacular wonderland. Wander the adorable local town, home to the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. Get cosy in a local cafe or take a stroll into the wilderness. After dinner indulge in a cocktail by a cosy fireplace.
Whistler to Vancouver to Seattle
Our final day begins by driving the Sea to Sky highway towards bustling Vancouver. We’ll have some time to explore the city, including the waterfront, Gastown, Chinatown, and Stanley Park. There’s more than plenty to see and do in this diverse, colourful city and your guide will be nearby to recommend all the best bits. You can choose to say your goodbye’s here, or finish in Seattle, the final stop on this truly epic adventure. Our fantastic tour ends in the evening and we say our teary farewells, having broadened our horizons and accepted a little piece of the Canadian wilds into our souls.
