Western National Parks Adventure 3 day full itinerary breakdown and route map
We meet early this morning in Las Vegas and our adventure begins in the ancient foothills of Zion National Park, where we’ll explore a land of towering Navajo sandstone giants and dunes looming 2000 feet above the canyon floor. Hike, stroll or meander along a variety of trails including the Emerald Pools, the Temple of Sinawava, and Weeping Rock. History buffs and the curious alike are encouraged to visit the Human History Museum and hear tales from the park rangers. Then its onwards to Bryce Canyon; an immense natural amphitheatre, it is one of the most scenically diverse places on planet earth! The red, white, and orange rocks enhance the already spectacular views whilst distinctive hoodoos litter the trails, providing more than ample Instagram fodder. With the day drawing to an end, sit back and enjoy a campfire BBQ with newfound friends while the sun dips low and the stars begin to shine.
Full steam ahead for day two as we begin by passing the breathtaking Lake Powell. Adventurers may be interested in an optional visit to Antelope Canyon, widely considered one of the most spectacular slot canyons in the world. But the day’s main event is waiting so we hit the USA’s winding roads and find ourselves basking in the legendary splendour of Monument Valley! Sacred home of the Navajo Indians and backdrop to more than a handful of John Ford flicks, it’s no surprise that these magnificent sandstone buttes are the iconic symbol of the American wild west. Learn all about these richly historic lands with a Navajo guided jeep tour before camping along the rim of the valley. We’ll awake in time to catch the magnificent sun rising between the otherworldly hills, and start our final day in style.
What better way to end our adventure than with a visit to one of the seven natural wonders of the world? We follow the Colorado River through the Painted Desert until we arrive at the phenomenal Grand Canyon. Here, the day is yours to spend as you please. Experience the famous canyon from the sky with an optional helicopter ride. Meander along the rim, or venture down into the depths of the canyon itself to discover exactly why this natural marvel is so widely revered. Those looking to relax can find comfort in one of several rim cafes, where you can enjoy the magnificent views at a slower pace. Sadly, all good things come to an end and we leave the Grand Canyon, humbled and serene, ready to return to the comforting glamour of Las Vegas where we arrive tonight.
