Well on this trip, you’ll be met with that opportunity every morning from the moment you open your eyes. Immerse yourself in a range of exciting destinations, with the chance to see and do more than you ever planned. Sip on a glass of Champagne at a classic cabaret show in Paris, get wonderfully lost hiking on a remote trail through the alpine scenery of Lauterbrunnen, fill up on tapas at a local eatery in Barcelona, and explore the traditional villages of Provence on a day trip from Avignon. 11 Day Itinerary

West Way 11 day itinerary

Day 1

Paris

Your adventure begins in the French capital of Paris. After checking in, take some time to get settled, or head out to start exploring! Make your way to a park like Parc des Buttes-Chaumont for a picnic and people-watching, or enjoy the sunset from the steps of the Sacre-Coeur in the district of Montmartre. Make the most of the authentic local cuisine with our included welcome dinner tonight. How does roast duck, beef bourguignon, steak tartare, snails, and prawns sound? The evening is yours to explore, however we highly recommend you sign up for one of the optional cabaret shows, both located in Montmartre near the restaurant. Dinner included

Day 2

Paris to Lauterbrunnen

This morning we say au revoir to the capital of fashion! We’ll board our comfy coach and steer towards the sun as we cut a path through the picturesque French countryside, arriving at the Swiss border. Continuing onwards through the capital of Bern, take in the beautiful Alpine views as we traverse the mountainous landscape of Interlaken. This evening we’ll arrive at our idyllic destination, Lauterbrunnen. Breathe in the fresh mountain air tonight, and enjoy the local delicacies like cheese fondue, and Swiss rosti.

Day 3

Lauterbrunnen

Spend the day soaking up Lauterbrunnen’s staggering natural beauty. Get those legs moving and explore the area to enjoy all that this mountainous paradise has to offer. Check out one of the many hiking trails and discover the local falls. Soak up the views from the “Top of Europe”, grab a meal and enjoy the panorama from up high, or hang out in the valley and while away the hours under the clear mountain skies. Tonight, fill up on a tasty included dinner and drinks at the onsite restaurant and bar, and trade stories from your day of adventure. Breakfast included Dinner included

Day 4

Lauterbrunnen

Prepare for another day in the fresh alpine air! Get in touch with your inner adrenaline junkie today as Interlaken has many heart racing optionals to experience. Sign up to take on the rapids as you float through the picturesque Alps whilst white water rafting, or take to the skies and experience a truly unique perspective on the magical surroundings while paragliding or skydiving. If you’d rather not get quite so high up in the air, try out the ropes park or soak up the rich mountain atmosphere and get lost exploring more of the hiking trails. Breakfast included

Day 5

Lauterbrunnen to Nice

Chow down on some breakfast, then sit back and relax. Today you can rest while we cruise through the Swiss Alps, the Italian countryside, and the French Riviera. After arriving into Nice this evening, go out and take a stroll to savour the beautiful mix of Italian and French architecture. The Italian influence in particular is visible everywhere in the city’s colourful and aristocratic buildings. Enjoy some of the local cuisine tonight - heavily influenced by Italian recipes, make sure you try things like pissaladiere (caramelised onion tart), provencal beef stew, and delicious true salade nicoise! Breakfast included

Day 6

Nice

All aboard the train to the independent city-state of Monaco! Upon arrival, go for a walk around the Old Town through the Prince’s Palace, take a stroll in the beautiful Saint-Martin gardens located on the coastline and walk along the yacht-lined harbour. If you fancy a good lookout spot, make your way up to Monte Carlo! Relax at a local cafe or bar with a drink in hand and enjoy the view. Breakfast included

Day 7

Nice

You have the entire day to experience Nice. Take your time wandering along the seafront at Promenade des Anglais, check out the Old Town’s cobbled alleys, and climb up to the Castle Hill for the best views of the city and the surrounding countryside. Later this afternoon, make your way to the beach for a picnic dinner while watching the sunset slowly sink below the horizon. Breakfast included

Day 8

Nice to Avignon

After breakfast, climb back aboard the coach for the short journey onwards to Avignon! Arriving around midday, take time to chill out in this historic city. Avignon is where the Pope lived during the 14th century (no, it wasn’t Rome!) so explore the Le Palais des Papes, go for a stroll through the medieval cobbled streets of the Old Town, and visit the bridge Le Pont d’Avignon which dates to the 12th century. Later this evening go for an aperitif, this is your chance to enjoy the local famous French wines and cheeses! Breakfast included

Day 9

Avignon

The day is yours to explore the surroundings of Avignon. Sign up for a full-day excursion exploring the traditional villages of Provence and the site of the Pont du Gard, the most amazing and well-preserved part of the Roman aqueduct which supplied water to Nimes. This UNESCO-listed site dates from the first century! However you choose to spend the day, just make the most of this stunning medieval city. Breakfast included

Day 10

Day 10: Avignon to Barcelona

You have the entire morning to kick back in Avignon. Hang out and grab a meal in a local bistro like Le Vintage, Ginette et Marcel or Fou de Fafa, and savour the local flavours. Departing around midday, it’s time to continue onwards to Barcelona. Enjoy the scenic drive along the French Riviera and countryside through the mountain range of the Pyrenees before crossing the border into Catalunya. Arriving this evening, stretch your legs and check out the street performers on the city’s main avenue Las Ramblas. Enjoy the local delicacies at La Boqueria (one of the largest markets in Europe), and breathe in the fresh air on the city’s famous Barceloneta seafront. Tonight is a delicious included tapas dinner - then it’s time to close out the adventure in style and experience the fiery nightlife! Breakfast included Dinner included

Day 11

Day 11: Barcelona

The time has come to say farewell as the tour ends after breakfast. We hope to see you again soon! Breakfast included
